The look of the film is cinematic and will be shot in widescreen with 4K resolution. Modern Southeast Missouri provides a plethora of historical buildings and towns, along with wonderful geographical vistas; its flat horizon and open sky is perfect for the widescreen format.
“Historical footage” of the Great Southeast Missouri Swamp will be acquired in the existing swamps of northeast Arkansas and the Big Lake Wildlife Area. There will also be live footage from drones, planes, crop dusters, helicopters, swamp boats, river barges; along with field burns, flood footage (licensed), and fall agrictultural harvesting.
The editing phase will include finalizing choices on the vast historical photographs and documents that will be inserted into the film with the “Ken Burns” style movement.
